We explain the difference between the contractor’s PM and the owner’s PM, with a focus on the latter. We go over the project cost and stages to an owner. We explain the difference between public and private projects in governance and management. Next, we discuss the contracting stage with a mention of important items in the contract such as sharing risk. We discuss the owner’s participation in both the design and construction phases. We cover owner’s role in the project finance and cash flow, communications, and documentation. We conclude with general tips and recommendations.
